About Us

The club was formed in the late 1950s by 2 or 3 ex RAF modellers, the club used a field near Smallfield for a number of years before moving to its current location in the late 1960’s.

The Surrey Radio Control Club has a membership of up to 65 people. There are fliers of all types, most seem to be members only as in a lot clubs but there are a handful of members that fly on a regular basis.

We primarily are a club for RC aircraft, Vintage , Scale, 3D, Aerobatics, We do allow members to fly their Quad Copters and Helicopters, IC and electric. No Turbine or large models due to proximity to Gatwick. We are a friendly bunch of varying ages with varying flying skills and some very knowledgable members who are always happy to help solve problems and technical issues. We have a few BMFA examiners so club members have every opportunity to achieve at least a BMFA ‘A’ Certificate or the more advanced ‘B’ Certificate.

The Surrey Club prides itself on having an excellent safety record.
